This is a museum quality reproduction of a wing that dates from 1919 right after WWI, it is based on the Army Air Service Pilot Wing but may have been made for the new pilots of the Air Mail Service. At that time the Air Mail Service did not have any official wings for its pilots. It appears some of them just had them made. This museum quality reproduction is made of Sterling Silver with the letters AMS gold plated.

This is a museum quality reproduction of an extremely rare wing. While mini wings have been made of almost all US Wing types the Balloon wing seems to be missing. You almost never see one at all. Recently I found one and have made this reproduction. Based on the construction of the wing it dates from the 1930's and may have been a special order for one balloon pilot. The wing is 1 1/2 inches wide. The wing could have been a sweetheart wing or used for an overseas hat. In any case here is a...

Also two types of badges were sometimes made, moving at speed or slow waves. This is a sterling reproduction of a Vosper badge for an officer at speed with a 24k gold plate. This...

The US Army has more boats than the Navy and the Army has more aircraft than the Air Force, so why shouldn't the Air Force have its own Navy. Years ago the Air Force did have some "boats" that sure looked a lot like PT Boats of WWII fame. But these were very limited in use to rescue of air crews along the coast of the US where a lot of flying and trainingtook place. The crews on these boats had unofficial "wings" just as the PT boats did during the war. There were two types of these pins, they...

Navy Wings of Gold by Ron Willis and Thomas Carmichael and what is very unusual about this wing is that it is long and thin the wing is actually 2 5/8 by 5/8 but looks longer because of it design. Another interesting fact is that it is sterling and is not gold plated making this an unusual wing for the Navy. Just silver in color as was the original. Also that it is part of a series of four wings with one for the Army, Medical Corp and the Air Corp. This is an museum quality reproduction and...
