This long awaited model has been finally produced by the right company, HobbyMaster "HB." This model is a great representation of the 1960''s vietnam war aircraft. This little plane is a must have for all "Century" series type aircraft collectors and it being the first of this type of release makes it even more attractive.
The model is nicely painted in silver metal color with all Tampo applied markings, no decals to discolor or fade. The one thing you''ll notice is that the back part of the intake is painted silver and not black. For a more realistic look and easy fix touch up with some black paint to give it more depth. The same goes for the inside of the engine exhaust nozzle. The overall look of this model takes you back to the first part of the Vietnam War, reminder of those who maintained and flew them in harms way.
HB has done a great job in detailing the cockpit with an ejection seat and instrument panel. Also included is the heads-up display unit and a pilot figure painted in the colors of the times. The windscreen and canopy fit very well and canopy operation up and down is smooth.
The landing gear parts are one piece units for the mains and the nose gear strut and doors are 3 pieces. All parts are easy to install and fit very well. The model also comes with several external stores and wing fuel tanks that can be installed. Included is the typical long pitot tube and 2 choices of under the wing mounted refueling probes. A stand is included so you can display the model in the flight mode with gear up or down.
As model plane collectors, this aircraft would make a nice piece in any collection. There's something special about historical important aircraft and the role they played at that time in our aviation history.
