Item Number: HE551977In contrast to the dull gray of numerous variants of the since 1953 manufactured Air Force Hercs, the approximately 40 variants of the US Coast Guard-operated HC-130s carry a flamboyant red and white livery. As such, they serve as official sea rescue airplanes (SAR) and helicopter refuellers but they have another function yet. The HC-130s are also used to detect drug-running airplanes and ships. especially from South America. The original of this model is registered as 1790, which is also the year the US Coast Guards was founded.
