Braniff-my ride to Air Force basic training.
I am not a diehard collector of commercial aviation models although in my early days of collecting I found myself acquiring snap-kit models as well as a few 1/400th scale diecast aircraft. As I browsed through DiecastAirplane''s site, I found a Dark Blue Ultra 727-200 that was the same color as the one I rode to San Antonio to start my basic training at Lackland AFB in the mid 70''s. Though this model is a lighter shade of blue the aircraft is essentially the same as the one in my collection. It comes in nice packaging with gear down for display on it''s gear as there is not a stand for in flight displaying. This is not a problem for me as I like to mix my collection in both flight modes. It comes with rolling rubber tires, nice graphics, two antennae, roof anti-collision light, and no unnecessary breaks around the tail or engine area. The color combination is very nice as with all the other Braniff color schemes in this series. The aircraft is properly proportioned as compared with the many pictures I''ve seen of Braniff 727-200''s. My only negative comment is the stamping of Inflight200 on the underside neat the main gear. This is my second Inflight200 model that I have acquired from DiecastAirplane and am extremely pleased with the find. I would recommend this model to anyone seeking a great classic aircraft, especially since we seldom see them anymore.
