No.208 (Reserve) Sq. is stationed at RAF Valley on the Isle of Anglesey, which is home to No. 4 Flying Training School, responsible for the training of Royal Air Force and Royal Navy fast-jet pilots. No. 208 (R) Sq. teaches basic handling of the Hawk. No.1 9 (R) Sq. teaches tactics and engineering skills. The squadron has been using the Hawk since 1994. The badge on the tail fin is from the 1930s when 208 Sq. was serving in the Middle East. The wings denote flight, and the eye is the Egyptian god ÒHorus,Ó which together depict the squadronÕs role of aerial reconnaissance.
