The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 first appeared in August 1941, and its air superiority quickly earned itself the nickname "Butcher Bird" from many opponents. The Fw 190 was an outstanding single-seat fighter, with more than 20,000 manufactured in WWII. The 190A-4 was introduced in June 1942, and it offered a methanol-water power-boost system, as well as updated radio equipment. A new 1/72 scale Fw 190A-4 from Dragon Warbirds has taken to the air, decked out in the markings of JG.54.
