A familiar sight throughout the Vietnam War, the AH-1, or Huey Cobra was the first attack helicopter to see action in Southeast Asia. Fast and maneuverable, it provided fire support for ground troops, escort duty for transport choppers, and was used extensively in search and rescue missions. Following Vietnam, the Huey Cobra saw action in Granada, Lebanon, Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
