Nina by TMC Pacific Modelworks
Item Number: MBTNI

The Nina was one of the three ships manned by Christopher Columbus in 1942, his first voyage towards th Indies. Nina was the personal favorite of Christopher Columbus among his other ships used during his expedition.

During Columbus' first expedition, captained by Vicente Yanez Pinzon, the Nina carried 24 men. On August 3, 1492, the crews left Palos de la Frontera and stopped at the Canary Islands on August 12, 1492, and then advanced westward.

Nina, upon its second voyage to Hispaniola, joined a grand fleet of 17 ships. It became the flagship for an exploration of Cuba and was the only ship to survive the 1495 huricane, then returned quickly to Spain 1496. In 1498, Nina returned to Hispaniola, served as an advance guard of Columbus' Third Voyage and was stationed to wait at Santo Domingo in 1500. In 1501, Nina made a trading voyage to the Pearl Coast and there's no further log of the ship.

Nina, under Columbus' command, had travelled at least 25,000 nautical miles.
